![]() ![]() On September 13, 2018, Chevrolet announced that it is ending production on the first generation Captiva and replacing it worldwide with the Equinox. Australasian-specification models are badged Holden Captiva. Sold internationally as the 'Chevrolet Captiva', South Korean-market cars were badged as Daewoo Winstorm until 2011, when the international name was adopted. The Theta platform also underpins the Opel Antara, the Captiva's mechanical derivative also built by Daewoo. The first generation model uses the GM Theta platform and derives from the S3X concept car revealed in 2004. The crossover straddles the entry-level SUV segments. The Chevrolet Captiva is a compactcrossover SUV that was developed by the South Korean manufacturer Daewoo, and has been sold by Chevrolet since 2006.
